Bethesda resident Alena Mirshahi was identified on Thursday as the woman who was killed in a late September single-car crash in Upper Marlboro following an investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Police say that at around 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, Mirshahi was driving in the 900 block of Harry S Truman Drive when she lost control, left the road, and struck a building.

She was rushed to an area hospital, where she later died from her injuries sustained in the crash, which remains under investigation.
